Writing
Providing insider knowledge and authentic local experiences, inspiring people to lead more adventurous, conscious lives.
I lived by this quote without even realizing it, with my globetrotting ways, seeking one experience after another.
Writing for me is a multisensory practice, way before I begin typing. From the ideation phase and the experience to pinpointing the core of the story that readers will want to hear.
You are a travel editor most likely tired of reading content that’s all too similar and working with writers you can’t connect with. You’re looking for original writing that tells raw stories and gives readers itchy feet to go out and experience life because you know that life’s greatest lessons are not found behind a desk, but are out there in the tales of the world.
After all, exposure is key to an open mind. I am a firm believer in expanding knowledge through life experiences, whether that’s getting in touch with the local culture or flirting with your limits. As a curious explorer who enjoys connecting with people, I naturally locate interesting stories that travel publications and their readers need.
Becoming Culture Trip’s ambassador Cyprus writer was a dream. Ever since then, I have written about my island for The Guardian, Molteni & C, Rough Guides, the Travelettes, Visit Nicosia, Cyprus Airways in-flight magazine and more.
I take pride in being a Cyprus expert and sharing my island’s local culture, traditions, people’s stories, and experiences that go way beyond partying in the sunshine. I have covered stories about women leading arts festivals, Cypriots reviving grandmother’s recipes, secret dinners, getting a cast of my vulva done and sleeping in one of the only glamping domes of the country.
Stories such as these, keep my fire burning just as much as when I travel abroad and discover unknown places.
